Building Attendant - Courier

Position Summary

Under general direction, cleans all areas of the hospital by performing routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, Emergency Department, Operating Rooms, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, and corridors. Demonstrate ability to utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to housekeeping procedure.

Key Responsibilities

• Removal and disposal of trash and waste product.
• Clean patient rooms, restrooms, offices and hospital common areas within established departmental standards.
• Maintain floors, strip and wax floors; shampoo carpets according to scheduled maintenance standards.
• Maintain walkways to ensure safe access.
• Respond to visitor, patient and staff requests for assistance.
• Maintain knowledge of OSHA and MSDS practices.
• High focus on customer and patient satisfaction.
• Working as a team towards accomplishing departmental goals.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Minimum Qualifications

• Possess and maintain a New York Driver’s License

Note: Not all per diem roles are union eligible

Physical Requirements

• M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

Pay Range

• $18.10 - $25.72
