About the role

The Building & Grounds Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, functionality, and appearance of KanPak's buildings and surrounding grounds. This role involves skilled and semi-skilled maintenance work across multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and groundskeeping. You’ll work with a high level of independence while coordinating closely with Engineering and Capital Project leadership to support food safety, regulatory compliance, and facility reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on buildings, roofs, siding, walls, flooring, and exterior surfaces
• Complete interior and exterior painting projects as needed
• Repair and patch flooring to maintain safe walking surfaces
• Remove snow and apply salt to roadways, walkways, and access points
• Perform minor electrical repairs, including wall switches and outlets; light fixtures, bulbs, ballasts, sockets, and fuses; minor appliances and cords
• Perform minor plumbing repairs, including fixing faucet and drain leaks; unclogging drains; trenching and laying small utility lines
• Replace HVAC filters and clean exhaust fans
• Coordinate GSF Quality activities and operations to meet objectives for quality, food safety, regulatory compliance, cost, safety, and customer satisfaction at KanPak
• Participate in formulating and administering division’s short- and long-range goals and objectives for business growth
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment; operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, mowers, loaders, and snow plows
