About the Role
Supervises and participates in routine manual work tasks in cleaning and maintaining buildings, surrounding grounds, walkways, and performs simple building maintenance and repair work.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and perform janitorial or custodial tasks such as sweeping, dusting, and cleaning buildings
- Conduct grounds maintenance including cleaning, watering, fertilizing, trimming, mowing, sweeping, and raking
- Perform simple building maintenance and repair work
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident alien, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible work experience in janitorial, custodial, or grounds maintenance work
- At least one (1) year of experience comparable in nature and scope to the Building and Grounds Custodian II role in State service
- Demonstrated supervisory aptitude through assignments, training, or favorable supervisor appraisals
- Possess a valid driver’s license at the time of appointment
