Responsibilities
- Develop manufacturing, integration, assembly, welding, NDE, cleanliness, and checkout processes from the ground up.
- Replicate processes and enforce consistency across different work centers.
- Partner closely with design teams to optimize design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and ensure requirements are fully met.
- Aggressively refine requirements and manufacturing processes where design intent conflicts with production rate or scalability.
- Investigate production, test, and field issues; lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions to improve designs and processes.
- Create training for production and inspection processes.
- Conduct build quality reviews, enforce standards, and collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support supplier quality and incoming inspection to ensure component reliability.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing, materials, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, reliability, or design engineering roles (internship and strong project/team experience qualifies).
- Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and inspection methods.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing environments.
- Experience with avionics, jet engines, SRMs (solid-state rocket motors), or composites.
- Background in process documentation, root cause analysis (e.g., 8D, fishbone), and quality systems.
- Knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001, Lean/Six Sigma, PFMEA/control plans, or precision inspection methods (vision/laser system, CMM, etc.).
- Proficiency in CAD (NX, SolidWorks, etc.) and data analysis tools (SPC, Minitab, etc.).
