Build-Ground Mechanic - 1st shift - Sunday - Thurs

As a Building & Grounds Mechanic based in Buffalo, NY, you’ll play a key role in maintaining our facilities and grounds, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for our operations.

This position works Sunday - Thursday with Friday and Saturday off.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of building and grounds maintenance, including pipe insulation, plumbing, painting, industrial floor repairs, wall repairs, demolition, and construction of structures (within reasonable limits).
• Handle building wiring as applicable and perform roof repairs.
• Conduct grounds upkeep, including trimming shrubbery, mowing lawns, and removing foreign materials.
• Remove snow in designated areas during winter months.
• Perform floor repairs using modern epoxy technology.
• Adhere to and uphold Plant’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and Plant Safety Programs.
• Recommend changes or additions to GMP’s and Plant Safety Programs as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of Lactalis products and recipes.
• Attend departmental meetings and in-services as required.
• Perform all duties according to safety standards to ensure the well-being of all staff.
• Complete other work duties as requested by the Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• Previous industrial building and grounds experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Ability to plan work and work independently.
• Skills in carpentry and masonry.
• Some trade schooling preferred.
