About The Role

The Budtender greets and welcomes patients, helps patients with product selections, adheres to policies and procedures, and ensures a wonderful patient experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides a wonderful experience for the patient.
  • Advises patients on suitable cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains of cannabis.
  • Keeps abreast of new cannabis products on the market as well as the latest industry trends.
  • Processes patients’ payments using the dispensary's Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Ensures that the store is always clean and well-organized.
  • Educates patients on the safe use of their selected cannabis product.
  • Correctly weighs, packages, and labels cannabis products, as required.
  • Checks patient’s identification documents to verify that they are of legal age and hold the necessary credentials needed to enter the dispensary and purchase product.
  • Takes inventory of cannabis products and ensures that the sales floor is adequately stocked.
  • Safeguards assigned opening and closing tasks.
  • Maintains compliance by following the proper policies and procedures set by the company and the state.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Education

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Proven experience working as a Budtender is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to pass a background check and receive a facility agent card from the state.
  • Sound knowledge of cannabis strains and their medicinal benefits.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Works well with other team members.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.
  • Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at times.

Seasonal Employment Information

Seasonal employment is intended to last approximately 90 to 120 days. At the conclusion of the seasonal employment period, employees may be eligible for conversion to a temporary position based on business needs, performance, and position availability. Conversion is not guaranteed.
