About the role

The Budtender delivers an exceptional guest experience by providing personalized cannabis recommendations, product education, and outstanding customer service. This role supports the day-to-day operations of the dispensary by assisting guests, processing transactions, maintaining compliance with Arizona cannabis regulations, and contributing to a welcoming, efficient, and professional retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, listen to their needs, and make personalized product recommendations.
• Explain the differences between cannabis types (flower, edibles, concentrates) and safe usage.
• Check IDs to verify legal age, adhere to purchase limits, and follow state and local laws.
• Process transactions using a Point-of-Sale (POS) system and handle cash accurately.
• Assist with daily cleaning, stocking shelves, and maintaining accurate product inventory.
• Improve personal Average Order Value (AOV), Units Per Transaction (UPT), and average daily sales month over month.

Requirements

• 6+ months of experience in the cannabis industry.
• Cash handling experience.
• Customer service experience.
• Product knowledge (preferred but not required).
• Must be 21+ and possess (or be able to obtain) an Arizona Facility Agent Card.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting, standing, walking, and climbing for long periods of time.

Work Environment

The environment can be loud and fast-paced, with specialized product displays (flower, edibles, concentrates). Staff must be adaptable to busy rushes, as wait times and long lines are common during peak hours.

Pay

$15.15 per hour + tips (earnings kept by employee).
