Budget Analyst
About the role
This is a federal job opportunity for current Federal employees in permanent competitive service positions (status candidates) in all U.S. Attorneys' offices and the Executive Office for the U.S. Attorneys, plus well-qualified surplus and displaced DOJ employees (CTAP) in the local commuting area.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the preparation of preliminary budget estimates and justifications
- Assisting with the monitoring of budget allocation and execution to ensure that operating program objectives are met
- Extracting and summarizing data from financial systems to inform managers about fund status
- Monitoring expenditures to ensure funds are used within legal and administrative constraints
Requirements
Must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
Qualifications
To be eligible at the GS-11 level, you must meet the definition of specialized experience.
Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level.
Specialized Experience is defined as experience performing duties such as assisting in the preparation of preliminary budget estimates and justifications; assisting with the monitoring of budget allocation and execution to ensure that operating program objectives are met; extracting and summarizing data from financial systems to inform managers about fund status; monitoring expenditures to ensure funds are used within legal and administrative constraints.
