Position Summary
This position supports the calculation and reporting of the Cooperative's revenue requirements and prepares the annual budget for generation and transmission service to the Member Cooperatives. Duties include operating the budget model, collecting and organizing budget assumptions, validating model inputs, analyzing budget and actual variances, and preparing various management performance reports.
Essential Functions
- Aids in the operation and maintenance of Seminole’s budget model, collecting and validating assumptions and inputs.
- Assists with preparing budget documentation and presentations to senior management and the Board of Trustees.
- Proofs financial results for reasonableness, expected output, and consistency.
- Analyzes budget and actual variances to assist with explanations, identify accounting errors, and recommend corrections to General Ledger (GL).
- Supports the development, preparation, and distribution of reports related to monthly management performance, metrics, dashboards, and Board of Trustees package.
- Plans the budget schedule and estimates margin impact of peaks as reported in the MTD peak report.
- Performs NERC Compliance Program roles if designated in Seminole’s Standard Ownership Matrix (SOM), including evidence retention in "audit-ready" form.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business equivalent.
- Additional training in financial management or an advanced accounting or finance degree is desirable.
- Electrical utility or related industries experience preferred.
- Three to five years of professional experience in corporate budgeting, financial management, or an advanced accounting may be considered for the Budget Analyst II-level job title.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to follow established protective measures including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
- Some travel and work outside of normal business hours.
- Potential exposure to hazards typical of an industrial working environment in certain areas of the plant.
