Budget Analyst

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the functional point of contact and financial liaison for a program/portfolio.
  • Provides budget execution support.
  • Maintains day-to-day budget/financial issues with varying needs, goals, and objectives.
  • Collaborates with budget analysts and program stakeholders internal and external to the organization.
  • Creates, coordinates, and consolidates program review products and budgetary data for Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution cycles.
  • Provides advice, assistance, and guidance on financial accounting and related information.
  • Conducts analyses, reviews, and special studies of budget and/or related information.
  • Utilizes budgetary and other proprietary automated systems and computer-generated products in executing support.
  • Updates status of documents and addresses execution issues for government stakeholders as necessary.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (preferably in a financial or business discipline).
  • 2 years of additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 2+ years of experience using a federal financial/accounting system, particularly in updating accounts, records, reports, and controls.
  • A solid understanding of the budget execution process at the individual document level.
