Buckner Elementary Custodian 2nd Shift

Classified, hourly position reporting to the School Plant Operator. 260 contract days on the board-approved salary schedule.

Qualifications

• High school graduate
• Experience in plant maintenance preferred
• Valid driver’s license (must maintain)
• Able to push, pull, or lift 40 pounds; kneel and reach above head

Responsibilities

• Maintains building and premises—sidewalks, driveways, play areas—neat and clean according to the work assignment schedule
• Shovels, plows, sands, and salts walks and steps as directed
• Sweeps classrooms, dusts furniture, and cleans chalkboards per schedule
• Cleans corridors after school and during the day per schedule
• Scrubs, hoses down, and disinfects toilet floors daily; cleans sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains per schedule
• Washes interior and exterior windows at least twice yearly (more often if needed)
• Clears debris from roofs, gutters, and downspouts as needed
• Keeps all floors clean, attractive, and well-preserved per schedule
• Reports major repairs promptly to the School Plant Operator
• Removes garbage
• Performs other duties and reasonable requests from school personnel
• Opens and secures building; notifies supervisor of lost or misplaced district keys
• Cleans, stores, and handles OCBE equipment properly

• 8-hour workday
