About the role

The City of Buckeye is seeking an IT Systems Administrator specializing in Endpoint Security to join our Information Technology team. This position is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and security of the City’s endpoint devices, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and related peripherals.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain endpoint security solutions, including antivirus, anti-malware, encryption, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools.
• Monitor and respond to security alerts and incidents related to endpoint devices.
• Develop, implement, and enforce endpoint security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure endpoint security measures align with overall IT security strategies.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and patch management for endpoint devices.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for endpoint security-related issues.
• Manage and maintain endpoint device inventory and lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, and retirement.
• Create and maintain documentation related to endpoint security processes and procedures.
• Stay current with emerging threats, security trends, and best practices in endpoint security.
• Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning as it relates to endpoint security.
• Assist in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new endpoint security technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in IT systems administration with a focus on endpoint security.
• Experience with endpoint security tools such as CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender ATP, or similar.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as NIST, CIS Controls, and ISO 27001.
• Familiarity with Windows and macOS operating systems, as well as mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
• Experience with scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and management tasks.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) are a plus.
