BU/Plant HR Specialist

About the role

The HR Consultant supports the Plant HR team to ensure the plant establishes and maintains a positive work environment and operates as "One Corning" in support of Corning's values. They assist in the successful implementation of global HR business processes within the plant. Key responsibilities include taking ownership for specific HR initiatives, identifying employee value proposition issues, partnering with leadership to improve engagement and organizational effectiveness, managing and mitigating employee concerns, resolving employee relations issues, coaching and counseling plant management, enhancing the employee experience, and leading initiatives that drive continuous improvement in employee retention and engagement.

Responsibilities

• Takes ownership for specific HR initiatives that support the effective operations of the organization by developing and/or delivering HR programs (e.g., training, communications).
• Identifies employee value proposition issues affecting turnover and works with Plant HR Manager to identify actions for improvement.
• PARTNERS WITH LEADERSHIP TO DEVELOP AND EXECUTE ACTION PLANS THAT IMPROVE ENGAGEMENT, COMMUNICATION, AND ORGANIZATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS.
• Establishes and maintains a presence on the plant floor to keep a read on the pulse of the organization.
• MANGAGES AND MITIGATES EMPLOYEE CONCERNS BY ENSURING SUPERVISORS AND LEADERSHIP ARE CREATING AN OPEN FORUM FOR DISCUSSION AND RESOLUTION OF PLANT ISSUES.
• RESOLVES EMPLOYEE RELATIONS ISSUES IN A FAIR AND CONSISTENT MANNER THAT PROTECTS THE NEEDS OF THE PLANT TO OPERATE IN AN EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT MANNER.
• COACHES AND COUNSELLS PLANT MANAGEMENT IN DEVELOPMENT AND DEMONSTRATION OF LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT PRACTICES REQUIRED TO ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN A POSITIVE WORK ENVIRONMENT.
• UTILIZES EMPLOYEE FEEDBACK TO DRIVE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT IN EMPLOYEE RETENTION AND ENGAGEMENT.
• LEADS INITIATIVES THAT ENHANCE THE EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE THROUGHOUT THE EMPLOYEE LIFECYCLE, INCLUDING ONBOARDING, EMPLOYEE INVOLVEMENT, AND RECOGNITION.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (Human Resources, Business, Organization Development, or Labor Relations preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years of HR experience (generalist/specialist, manufacturing experience preferred)
• Successful track record in the deployment of global HR business processes or programs.
• Knowledge of employment laws and policies.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing HR documents, records, and data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software.
• Able to maintain professionalism, handle sensitive situations, and build relationships with employees at all levels.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of employment laws and regulations related to HR administration and recordkeeping.

Experiences/Education

Pay

The range for this position is $79,519.00 - $109,339.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
