About the role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the design, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all site-wide equipment in order to maintain a quality Class A environment in GMP, GLP, and non-GMP facilities at the Swiftwater site. This position reports to and supports the area team Maintenance Manager or Deputy Director, ensuring the efficient, effective, and reliable operation of all equipment. The role involves interactions with all levels of the organization, including HSE, Manufacturing & Supply, Engineering, External Contractors, R&D, GCI, Msat, and various other support groups.
The Maintenance Technician is part of a team supporting GMP, GLP, and/or non-GMP areas, working with equipment and systems that directly impact manufacturing operations and quality results. The 7/24 GMP production environment requires maintenance under regulated conditions.
Responsibilities
- Multitask, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, and evaluate and repair site-wide equipment.
- Work on intricate and site-specific equipment and systems, including up to 25% overtime with short notice and varying shifts based on business needs.
- Interface closely with customers to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient equipment operation and uptime.
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance in a timely manner.
- Adhere to HSE considerations for maintenance (permits, PTW, LOTO).
- Ensure work order accuracy and completeness.
- Drive continuous improvement for maintenance operations.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial and process equipment, including but not limited to:
- Autoclaves
- Process control devices
- Pump repairs, rebuilds, and replacement
- Motor replacement and alignment
- Schematics and blueprint reading
- Electricity (DC controls, single-phase, and 3-phase up to 480V)
- Refrigerators, freezers, and incubators
- Process chillers and temperature control units
- Water For Injection (WFI), Clean Steam, RO/DI, and purified water systems
- Replacement of valves and piping system repairs
- Basic computer skills in MS Office and SAP
- Air Handling Unit Operations
- Tensioning of belts and alignment
- Bearing replacement
- Knowledge of VFD’s, VAV’s, and steam principles
- JCI Metasys Systems
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree with 3+ years of experience in equipment maintenance, or High School Diploma with 5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance.
- In-depth equipment knowledge and strong troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of precision maintenance concepts.
- Ability to support 24/7 coverage of a BSLIII facility.
- Participation in FBI clearances.
- Ability to pass and maintain N95 and Full-Face Respirator certifications.
- Must be part of the Medical Surveillance Program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Electrical knowledge and experience with troubleshooting electromechanical systems.
- Relevant training and certifications in maintenance or related fields.
- Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Schedule
2nd shift: Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM), subject to working holidays, weekends, and mandatory overtime based on business needs.
