Senior Business Systems Analyst - Healthcare Payer (TriZetto Facets) Location: Remote / Hybrid - Occasional onsite meetings (1-2 times per month preferred) This is a contract-to-hire opportunity that is primarily remote, requiring onsite attendance in Newark, NJ for two consecutive days per month. We cover your hotel accommodations for the onsite visits, while you would be responsible for your travel expenses. Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire Experience: 6+ years Industry: Healthcare Insurance / Payer About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with strong hands-on TriZetto Facets expertise to support enterprise healthcare payer applications and technology initiatives. This is a highly visible, technical-functional role ideal for someone who understands healthcare payer operations, can translate complex business needs into technical requirements, and has experience supporting Facets applications in a production environment. The position offers a unique combination of 60% end-to-end project delivery and 40% production support, providing the opportunity to lead new initiatives while ensuring the stability and performance of critical healthcare systems. We are looking for a senior-level professional who can work independently, collaborate with business and technical stakeholders, and take ownership of projects from initial intake through production implementation. Key ResponsibilitiesLead business and systems analysis activities for enterprise initiatives involving TriZetto Facets.Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and system workflows.Manage projects throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from initial intake and requirements gathering through testing, implementation, and production stabilization.Support core Facets functionality, including claims processing, member enrollment, eligibility, and payments.Perform SQL queries and data analysis to investigate system issues, validate business requirements, and troubleshoot production defects.Analyze healthcare EDI transactions, including 834, 837, 835, 270/271, and 276/277.Partner with development teams, solution architects, and business stakeholders to assess system impacts and recommend technical solutions.Investigate Facets production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate issue resolution with internal teams and external technology partners.Analyze APIs, system interfaces, integrations, and healthcare data exchanges.Facilitate requirements workshops, stakeholder meetings, and technical discussions.Support Agile delivery activities, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and user acceptance testing.Manage multiple concurrent initiatives while maintaining clear communication with business and technology leadership.Required Qualifications6+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or in a similar technical-functional role.Strong hands-on experience with TriZetto Facets in a healthcare payer environment.Deep understanding of healthcare insurance operations, particularly claims, enrollment, eligibility, and payments.Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, data validation, and troubleshooting.Experience supporting Facets production environments, including incident investigation, defect analysis, and issue resolution.Working knowledge of healthcare EDI transactions and data integration processes.Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.Experience supporting projects through the complete SDLC.Strong understanding of system interfaces, APIs, and data exchanges.Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across business, development, QA, and vendor teams.Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and solve complex business and technical problems.Preferred QualificationsExperience working with Facets in a hosted or vendor-managed environment.Experience coordinating technical troubleshooting with Cognizant or other third-party technology providers.Experience working in Agile environments.Background supporting multiple concurrent healthcare payer technology initiatives.Experience with process improvement, gap analysis, and current-state/future-state assessments.Previous experience in a senior or Level 3 Business Systems Analyst capacity.What Makes This Opportunity Unique?High-impact work: Support critical healthcare payer systems used for claims, enrollment, and payments.Project ownership: Lead initiatives from business intake through production deployment.Technical involvement: Stay hands-on with Facets, SQL, integrations, and production troubleshooting.Flexibility: Remote-friendly opportunity with limited onsite expectations.Long-term potential: Contract-to-hire opportunity with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent position.Interested?
