BSA Analyst

Onsite position at BancFirst Tower, Downtown Oklahoma City: 100 N. Broadway Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73102.

About the role

Using their acquired banking experience, along with their knowledge of financial crimes, the BSA Analyst will investigate, follow up, and process potential money laundering and suspicious activity cases. Investigation will require the use of behavior and rules-based software, and other tools such as the bank’s core system, transaction research software, and wire software. The goal is to attempt to get a holistic, 360-degree view of the customer's activities.

In addition to using these tools, the BSA Analyst will rely on tips from locations, internet research, local knowledge, and a good working understanding of Oklahoma demographics, individuals, and companies that do business in our communities to determine whether activity is legitimate for the customer.

This role is ever-changing as the federal government’s efforts against money laundering continue to evolve. Different tactics and techniques will emerge as regulations and money-laundering methods adapt through technological advances and new high-risk activities.

Responsibilities

• Investigating potential Money Laundering alerts
• Investigating suspicious activity
• Processing potential OFAC matches
• Filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)
• Reviewing and filing Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs)
• Staying current on BSA/AML compliance
• Regular and consistent attendance
• Assisting with other job-related duties as requested by supervisor/manager

Requirements

• Analytical skills
• At least 3-5 years in banking
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Constant use of computers
• Self-motivated and independent thinker
• Ability to decipher suspicious activity versus false positives
• Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment
• Ability to work well with a team for project completion
• Able to perform in a highly sensitive environment and deal with confidential matters

• Audit experience (preferred)
• Investigations experience (preferred)
• Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word) (preferred)

Physical Requirements

• Constant use of computer screens
• Ability to operate a computer keyboard, use hand to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk, see, or hear
• Intermittently standing, stooping, bending at the waist, walking, kneeling, or crouching
• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time during the workday
• Long periods of typing and repetitive motion
• Ability to lift and/or move and carry up to 5 pounds
