About the role

This position involves covering aluminum and wood parts with carpet and vinyl by glue or stapling.

Responsibilities

• Carry various sizes of metal, wood, and carpet pieces to and from workstations (2 to 50 lbs).
• Apply glue to metal, wood, and carpet pieces using an air gun.
• Adhere carpet to metal and wood pieces using hands to compress, stretch, and pull carpet.
• Trim excess carpet from metal and wood pieces using scissors and/or utility knife.
• Staple carpet to wooden pieces using a pneumatic stapler.
• Preassemble hardware using an air rivet gun, bucker, or air drill.
• Operate wood router and carpet cutter.
• Install frames (both by screwing and adhesive).
• Sand wood and plastic and seal seats.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Pick aluminum parts and store parts in their proper locations around the plant.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to follow written and oral communication.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Working Conditions

• Regularly required to work at heights on platforms.
• Lifting parts and pieces up to 50 lbs.
• Traveling up and down stairs on a constant basis.
• Sitting, squatting, and bending in various awkward positions for certain lengths of time, including working overhead.
• Traveling in and out of work areas, walking, and being on your feet for a majority of the workday.
• Exposed to noise, dust, fumes, and odors daily.
• Physical exertion is required, including standing, bending, and twisting for a 10-hour shift.
• May be required to work in a non-air-conditioned area.
• Vision protection and steel-toed shoes are required; hearing protection may be required.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00 per hour. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
