Brokerage Internship (Seasonal)

Job Summary

This position provides hands-on experience supporting transportation brokerage operations. It offers exposure to market dynamics, carrier negotiation strategies, and tools for efficient solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Gain exposure and understanding of the transportation industry
• Participate in daily transportation brokerage activities, verifying carrier authenticity, maintaining accurate shipment records, and monitoring freight movement
• Build an understanding of market trends, pricing strategies, and capacity challenges to support carrier negotiations and revenue/margin goals
• Observe and practice serving as a liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers, learning how service failures are communicated to minimize costs and inefficiencies
• Learn about the technology and tools J.B. Hunt uses to streamline workflows, enable carrier access to load management, and promote efficiency

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program OR graduate degree program in good standing at an accredited community college, college or university
• Must be able to work 40 hours a week during the summer
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities and directives
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Willingness to work flexible hours
• Junior or Senior level preferred

Compensation Factors

Starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to date.
