Broiler Flock Supervisor

About the Role

Act as liaison between Mountaire Farms and independent contract growers. Monitor and promote proper animal husbandry and animal welfare procedures that are consistent with accepted industry standards through documented weekly flock visitations and effective communication. Ensure ability to follow and understand animal welfare and biosecurity guidelines as they pertain to company certification. Promote company procedures and programs to independent contract growers to obtain top performance. Complete flock testing so flocks can be processed on time. Train contract growers on best management practices for biosecurity of farms.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly flock visits and maintain grower communications to monitor and promote proper animal husbandry and animal welfare procedures consistent with industry standards.
  • Promote company procedures and programs to independent contract growers to achieve top performance.
  • Participate in weekly production meetings and trainings, providing direction and support to help growers achieve their goals.
  • Perform bird health diagnosis and surveillance, including PAW quality scoring.
  • Manage mortality, weight, feed projections, and related paperwork.
  • Ensure all company safety guidelines and protocols are followed.

Requirements

  • Minimum Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in poultry production desired.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to follow and understand animal welfare and biosecurity guidelines as they pertain to company certification.
  • Ability to adapt to new policies and procedures quickly.
