Broiler Flock Supervisor

About the role

To maintain the Quality Assurance program for the Company that conforms to the Company's Sales, Marketing, Grow-out, Processing, and regulatory needs. The Flock Advisor serves as a liaison between Bell & Evans broiler growers and Bell & Evans, acting as an educator, support, and resource to ensure the success of the grower and the flocks in their care while adhering to agreed-upon growth and performance goals established within live production.

Responsibilities

• Maintain good communication with contracted growers, providing feedback on performance and ensuring adherence to all certification requirements; maintain a two-way line of communication between the grower and the company.
• Maintain good communication with the Growth and Development Manager, Senior Flock Technician, and Compliance Manager as part of a collaborative team approach.
• Manage agreed-upon budgets for feed and weight performance and mortality, providing open feedback and solutions to budget variance.
• Conduct farm visits during the weeks of flock placement, on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, and mandatory flock review with the grower at settlement to develop working relationships, assess opportunities, and educate as needed.
• Collect flock specimens as needed to assist in diagnosis, treatment, and/or preventative measures.
• Maintain all animal welfare, safety, and biosecurity practices on all farms.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Broiler Manager.

Qualifications

• Ability to quickly adapt to ongoing continuous improvement changes.
• Effective communicator with basic computer skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Poultry Science or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
• One to two years of experience in poultry production is preferred.
• Must have a current driver's license.
• Must acquire and maintain an up-to-date Poultry Technician Certificate through the State of Pennsylvania.
