Broadcasting Technology Associate (Part-time) Instructor Pool 2026 - 2027

MiraCosta College is accepting applications to build a pool of instructors for possible future part-time assignments at all locations. Assignments may include days, evenings, or weekends, and may be at any campus or authorized facility. Applications are valid through June 30, 2027.

Residency Requirement

All associate faculty employees must maintain a principal residence in California within 200 road miles of their regularly assigned district worksite. The policy ensures efficiency, continuity, and student accessibility. Exceptions:

• Fully online assignments require residency in California but allow living beyond 200 miles.
• Temporary residency outside California or beyond 200 miles may be requested on a case-by-case basis, not to exceed 12 consecutive months.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and teach assigned courses in accordance with approved course outlines, education code requirements, and faculty contract provisions.
• Provide feedback and guidance to students and evaluate student performance.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Pay

Hourly rate: $93.42 to $113.65. New associate faculty start at step 1 (based on education).

• Fall/Spring Semesters: Hourly Pay Rate × # of LHE* × 18.5 hours = Total Pay
• Summer Sessions: Hourly Pay Rate × # of LHE* × 16.5 hours = Total Pay

*LHE = Lecture Hour Equivalent (assigned to each course).
