Broadcast Services Lighting Technician

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Aids the Lighting Director with board programming, instrument focus, cable maintenance, and spotlight arrangement.
• Focusing and rigging of lights, operating manual and computer-controlled lighting systems.
• Installing and mounting lighting controls, devices, and components.
• Setting up and operating Super Trooper follow spots.
• Assisting with load-in, set-up, strike, and load-out of shows.
• Maintaining and ensuring lighting equipment is in good working condition.
• Assisting with maintenance of lighting equipment: assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic lighting components.
• Developing a detailed knowledge of Lighting Hardware and Systems.
• Aiding the Broadcast Services Department in implementing audio-visual requirements for events: PowerPoint presentations, audio and videoconferences, setting up & supporting press conferences.
