Broadcast Production Assistant

About the role

WLWT, the Hearst Television owned NBC affiliate in Cincinnati, is looking for an energetic team player who understands the flexible schedule that the broadcast industry requires to join our production crew. This part-time Production Assistant will operate the teleprompter and video equipment as related to live broadcasts and post-production.

Responsibilities

• Operate teleprompters, sets, and other production equipment
• Prepare lighting and scripts for newscasts
• Cue video during newscasts
• Maintain professional appearance of studio and sets
• Floor directing and assisting the news department
• Assist directors as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Working knowledge of television newscast equipment and software
• Videography experience helpful
• Good technical and communication skills
• Ability to problem-solve quickly and work well under pressure and tight deadlines
• Strong attention to detail
• In-person attendance required

Qualifications

• Good attitude, willingness to learn, and team-player mindset
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications preferred
• Current local students encouraged to apply
• Equivalent military training from Defense Information School (DINFOS) and associated experience will be considered
