About the role

We are looking for a child and youth counselor to join District Vanløse in Din Sociale Indgang – Brønshøj-Husum-Vanløse (DSI – BHV). DSI – BHV is one of five units covering the child welfare area in Copenhagen Municipality. Our well-functioning unit consists of approximately 180 employees with backgrounds in social work, administration, psychology, and pedagogy. We are organized into three districts—Brønshøj, Husum, and Vanløse—based on local schools, along with two implementation groups covering all three districts.

We work with children from unborn up to age 16 and their families, after which the young person transitions to our 16+ group, covering all districts. We emphasize strong collegial collaboration and a positive work environment, even when handling complex and varied challenges.

Responsibilities

• 24-hour assessments, case investigations, and child welfare evaluations
• Developing child and youth plans
• Initiating and following up on interventions
• Maintaining continuity in cases to minimize transitions for families
• Focusing on family resources and involving the family and their network
• Prioritizing early intervention using the ICS method
• Working in the DUBU case management system (familiarity with DUBU and ICS is an advantage)

Requirements

• Degree in social work (socialrådgiver) or social education (socialformidler)
• Strong case management skills and clear communication, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work structured, make professional assessments, and maintain composure in unpredictable situations
• Experience as a child and youth counselor is an advantage
• Enthusiasm for interdisciplinary collaboration and driving progress with others

Pay

Salary and employment terms follow the current collective agreement for social workers, social educators, and administrative staff, with principles of local wage formation.

Schedule

Full-time position (37 hours per week) starting October 1, 2026.
