BRINE FACILITY OPERATOR (ENERGY STORAGE SERVICES)

About the role

The Brine Facility Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the solution mining facility for Client under contractual arrangement with Gulf ESS. This includes safely operating and maintaining all components of the solution mining facility, performing regular preventative maintenance, and occasional reactive repair work on pumps, valves, control equipment, pipelines, and similar equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct several daily rounds of Salt Cavern Wells, Disposal Wells, and related equipment to ensure proper operation and identify faulty equipment, pipe leaks, or malfunctioning components.
  • Operate equipment, including starting, stopping, or adjusting pump speeds, valve alignment, and general maintenance.
  • Operate a SCADA system to control leaching operations and use basic software for reporting.
  • Interface with operations personnel from other organizations, Gulf customers, and vendors.
  • Work a rotating shift to cover 24/7 operations.
  • Follow written instructions, procedures, and verbal commands from the Lead Operator.
  • Adhere to established safety and operational procedures, including Gulf’s internal protocols for environmental requirements.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct.
  • Adhere to Gulf’s Code of Conduct and related policies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of field experience in an industrial facilities operations position.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Available for rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • General computer skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by Gulf’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic electrical experience, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, electronic, and digital transmitters and controllers, switches, and other process instrumentation.
  • Experience with Preventative Maintenance Programs.
  • Equipment Operating and Rigging Certifications.
  • Knowledge of ASME, API, and ANSI national codes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 75 pounds.
  • Able to work in changing climate conditions.
  • Able to work in close quarters, kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
  • Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Proteive Equipment (PPE) guidelines (e.g., eye protection, footwear, FRC).
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and climb.
  • Use various hand tools and calibration equipment.
