About the Role

We are seeking a Bridge Technical Manager to join our team in Chicago or Downers Grove, IL. This hybrid role (2 days in office required) focuses on people management, project design, and project management. Under the guidance of the Structural Department Manager, you will work on high-visibility projects, mentoring staff, coordinating tasks, and ensuring project success.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor structural group staff
  • Coordinate tasks and project schedules
  • Communicate with clients regarding project issues, schedules, and budgets
  • Assist with proposal production and marketing initiatives
  • Teach educational courses (as needed)
  • Serve as discipline lead for all facets of project tasks
  • Perform detailed technical peer reviews
  • Maintain technical knowledge through training, seminars, and professional publications
  • Verify quality standards and project deadlines are met
  • Maintain client satisfaction and oversee project safety
  • Coordinate directly with client’s Project Representatives
  • Provide regular status reports to the Structural Department Manager

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering
  • Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) license and Structural Engineer (S.E.)
  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Experience with Illinois bridge design and maintenance policies and procedures
  • Complex bridge analysis and design using finite element software
  • Strong client relationship skills
  • Involvement with industry and professional organizations
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and computer-aided bridge design/analysis tools (e.g., finite element and bridge load rating software)

Pay

The approximate compensation range for this position is $111,000 to $161,000 per year, dependent on factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
