Bridge Structural Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design simple and complex bridges (primarily of steel, concrete, and precast/pre-stress construction)
• Design and develop transportation-related structures (retaining walls, culverts, sign structures, and other miscellaneous structures)
• Perform analysis on all design phases, structural modeling, structural calculation, and plan production
• Work independently and as part of a team, leading or assisting in tasks
• Coordinate with contractors on design build contracts

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s in Structural Engineering preferred)
• NY Professional Engineering (PE) license, or ability to obtain within one year
• Minimum 5 years of experience working on bridge transportation projects
• Sound oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Familiarity with CADD (MicroStation or AutoCAD)
• Desire to work in a team environment
• Experience with NYSDOT and NYCDOT design standards and current state of practice such as accelerated bridge construction and prefabricated bridge elements
• Design-Build experience desirable
• Clean driving record required

Skills

Pay

The projected range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NY only.
