Bridge (ESL, HSE, HSD, ABE, & EAP) Faculty - 1 year term*

Primary Responsibility

Full time faculty positions begin in July 2026 with a 30-credit hour (170 day contract per Board Policy 4.12) teaching load annually. The successful candidate supports the planning, coordination, and continuous improvement of Bridge courses, including English as a Second Language (ESL), Adult Basic Education (ABE), High School Equivalency (HSE), Adult High School Diploma (AHSD), and English for Academic Purposes (EAP), and related transition/pathway courses. The role focuses on student access, retention, persistence, and successful progression through Bridge programs, while strengthening connections to college, career, and community pathways. This position also supports the development of career-connected Bridge courses based on local workforce needs.

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Teach course-load as assigned
  • Evaluate courses and student learning
  • Meet course, program, and institutional learning outcomes established by CMC
  • Comply with department guidelines and college policies
  • Maintain at least five office hours per week to meet with students
  • Develop rapport with students that is professional and encourages teacher/student communication
  • Aid in academic advising of students
  • Participate in orientation and registration activities

Pre-requisites (Qualifications Standards)

  • Credentialed to teach in this program, or eligible to be credentialed
  • Master’s Degree in TESOL, Linguistics, English, Adult Education, Developmental Education, Education, or other degree with 18 graduate credits in TESOL required
  • Adult Basic Education Authorization (ABEA) required, or willingness to obtain within three years
  • Minimum of one-year, full-time teaching experience or the equivalent as an adjunct faculty member
  • Higher education teaching experience and knowledge of a language other than English required
  • Experience needed in a variety of teaching delivery modes including online
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, flexibility, and collegiality are essential

Course Delivery

  • May include a mix of live in-person/livestream, hybrid asynchronous/synchronous, and with the use of video-conferenced software modalities available to students throughout the College district
  • The successful incumbent has experience in a variety of instructional modalities using a learning management system (LMS) like Canvas

Special Conditions of Employment

  • Successful completion of a background check will be required as well as motor vehicles records report when applicable
  • Incumbents in this position will adhere to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College while performing all duties assigned
  • May require travel and evening and/or weekend hours

Organizational Relationships

  • Collaborate with other program faculty
  • Work with Student Services personnel in advisement of students
  • Work cooperatively with Academic Services, Student Services, and Administrative Services personnel

Supervisory Responsibility

  • May supervise staff positions and/or student employees

Salary Range

$82,299.59 - $100,240.83 annual salary depending upon a combination of education and experience
