About the role
We are seeking an entry-level Bridge Engineer for our growing Bridge team in our Corporate Headquarters office in downtown Milwaukee. This position offers rewarding project challenges and the opportunity to join a well-established technical group.
Responsibilities
- Designing and preparing plans and specifications for transportation structures, including highway bridges, retaining walls and box culverts under the supervision of the lead structural engineer, per DOT requirements.
- Assembling design documentation, reports, and quantity calculations for checking, and participating in checking the work of others.
- Performing structural inspections of bridges and highway structures.
- Participating in team projects, adhering to project budgets and schedules under moderate supervision.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis in course work.
- A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or a minimum of 1 year of relatable bridge experience.
- Internship experience in structural bridge design/inspection, or transportation is preferred. Additional experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of WisDOT or IDOT standards considered a plus.
- Working knowledge of Leap Bridge Concrete, MDX and Leap Bridge Steel preferred.
- Ability to develop details, drawings and plan sheets in Civil 3D is a plus.
- EIT Certification preferred.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in bridge engineering.
- Experience with WisDOT or IDOT standards.
- Experience with Leap Bridge Concrete, MDX and Leap Bridge Steel.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D.
- EIT Certification.
