Bridge Engineer I

PRIME AE Group, Inc. seeks a Bridge Engineer in Columbus, OH.

About the role

Perform structural load calculations and bridge plan/specifications development. Oversee geometric layout and quantity development. Check design calculations, construction cost estimates, and plan development produced by other engineers. Typical bridge projects include precast concrete girder (pre-stressed and/or post-tensioned) and steel plate or steel box girder for highway, waterway, and rail projects.

Act as a Technical Specialist or Task Leader on large projects, supervise Junior Engineers, prepare reports, and engage in frequent client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural load calculations and develop bridge plans/specifications
• Oversee geometric layout and quantity development
• Review design calculations, construction cost estimates, and plan development produced by other engineers
• Serve as Technical Specialist or Task Leader on large projects
• Supervise Junior Engineers in engineering tasks
• Prepare reports and interact with clients

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (or its equivalent)
• 3 years of experience in bridge engineering
• EIT or PE certification required
• 2 years of experience in bridge plan production in a professional setting
• 2 years of experience in various aspects of bridge design projects
• 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office, CADD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.), and structural design software
• Authority to work permanently in the U.S.

$100,963.00 to $110,963.00
