JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and plan in accordance with applicable design specifications.
- Projects may include various bridge types such as steel plate girder, prestressed concrete girder and reinforced concrete slab structures.
- Conduct structural analysis to ensure the strength and safety of highway structures.
- Prepare structural designs and contract documents including drawings, specifications, and estimates.
- Participate in preparing project budgets and schedules.
- Perform calculations for designing bridges and transportation structures using AutoCAD and/or specialized bridge design software.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- A copy of transcripts must be submitted with resume.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a structural major or emphasis.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or specialized bridge design software.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with co-workers and clients, both in verbal and written form.
- Knowledge of Prestressed Concrete is preferred.
- Knowledge of layout and design of bridges and highway structures is preferred.
