Bridge Engineer

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and plan in accordance with applicable design specifications.
• Projects may include various bridge types such as steel plate girder, prestressed concrete girder and reinforced concrete slab structures.
• Conduct structural analysis to ensure the strength and safety of highway structures.
• Prepare structural designs and contract documents including drawings, specifications, and estimates.
• Participate in preparing project budgets and schedules.
• Perform calculations for designing bridges and transportation structures using AutoCAD and/or specialized bridge design software.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• A copy of transcripts must be submitted with resume.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a structural major or emphasis.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or specialized bridge design software.
• Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with co-workers and clients, both in verbal and written form.
• Knowledge of Prestressed Concrete is preferred.
• Knowledge of layout and design of bridges and highway structures is preferred.
