Brewery Representative

About the Role

This is a full-time, field-based Brewery Representative position covering the East Bay and Redding, CA territories. The ideal candidate will live in Brentwood, Concord, Walnut Creek, San Ramon, or Pleasanton, CA. The role focuses on developing new accounts and maintaining current ones within the industry, with a strong emphasis on increasing product availability and visibility through consultative sales tactics.

Responsibilities

• Sell the entire Boston Beer Company (BBC) product portfolio with a 100% focus on selling products and/or upgrading product lines in retail accounts (bars, restaurants, liquor stores, grocery stores, convenience stores).
• Identify major accounts not currently selling BBC products and develop plans to establish business with them.
• Improve account conditions and merchandise by building displays, resetting coolers, and placing point-of-sale items to increase brand visibility.
• Partner with distributors to ensure orders are placed, products are received, and business is growing at accounts.
• Conduct waitstaff and bartender education, beer tastings, and evening promotions.
• Work in varying conditions due to the customer-facing nature of the role, including occasional weekends and holidays.
• Travel periodically for meetings, trainings, and regular market visits to service retailers and wholesalers.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1+ years of proven results-oriented experience in outside sales or within the food & beverage industry.
• An intense competitive spirit with an assertive, confident personality.
• Valid driver’s license, registered and insured vehicle, and ability to drive continuously to and from accounts.
• Ability to lift and move cases of beer frequently.
• Ability to climb, kneel, and stoop to arrange and display point-of-sale items.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.

Pay

The salary range for this role is between $70,500 and $79,000, with a location adjustment of $16,000 for the East Bay area included. Starting salary within this range depends on related experience, skillset, and location. This position also qualifies for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance.
