Brewery Representative

Full-time Brewery Representative position in San Diego, CA. Candidates must live in the Greater San Diego Area.

About the role

The Brewery Representative works autonomously to develop new accounts and maintain current accounts within the industry, focusing on increasing product availability and visibility through consultative sales tactics.

Responsibilities

• Sell the entire Boston Beer Company (BBC) product portfolio with 100% focus on selling products and/or upgrading product lines in retail accounts (bars, restaurants, liquor stores, grocery stores, convenience stores).
• Identify major accounts not currently selling BBC products and develop plans to establish business with them.
• Improve account conditions and merchandise by building displays, resetting coolers, and displaying point-of-sale items to increase brand visibility.
• Partner with distributors to ensure orders are placed, products are received, and business is growing at accounts.
• Conduct waitstaff/bartender education, beer tastings, and evening promotions.
• Work weekends and holidays periodically to support business needs.
• Occasional travel for meetings and trainings; regular travel in the market to service retailers and wholesalers.

Requirements

• 1+ years of proven results-oriented experience in outside sales or within the food & beverage industry.
• Intense competitive spirit with an assertive, confident personality.
• Valid driver’s license, registered and insured vehicle, and ability to drive to and from accounts continuously.
• Ability to lift and move cases of beer frequently.
• Ability to climb, kneel, and stoop to arrange and display point-of-sale frequently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.

Pay

Expected compensation range: $70,500–$72,000 annually (includes location-based adjustment). Placement within the range is determined by relevant experience, skills, and qualifications. Eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance.
