About the role
The Brewer is responsible for executing all aspects of daily beer production, including brewing, cellar work, packaging, sanitation, quality assurance, and equipment maintenance. This position offers hands-on experience across every stage of commercial brewing while providing an outstanding opportunity for professional growth within an established, award-winning brewery.
Responsibilities
- Independently execute brewhouse operations, including milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, whirlpool, and knockout according to production schedules
- Manage cellar operations including transfers, dry hopping, carbonation, yeast harvesting, yeast management, and tank turnarounds
- Operate kegging, canning, and packaging equipment while maintaining product quality
- Participate in quality assurance through sensory evaluation and routine production testing
- Maintain accurate brewing, fermentation, and quality records
- Identify process or equipment issues early and assist with troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
- Receive ingredients and assist with inventory management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe brewery
- Contribute to pilot batches and recipe development
- Support brewery operations wherever needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of commercial brewery experience (or equivalent production experience)
- Working knowledge of commercial brewing processes
- Strong understanding of brewery sanitation procedures
- Able to follow recipes and SOPs with precision
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Comfortable working in hot, cold, wet, and physically demanding environments
- Forklift experience or willingness to become certified
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating a commercial brewhouse
- Cellaring and fermentation management experience
- Packaging line experience
- Draft system knowledge
- Yeast harvesting and propagation experience
- Basic maintenance and troubleshooting skills
- Formal brewing education or equivalent professional experience
- Passion for craft beer and continuous learning
