Breakfast Server- Marriott Chicago

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and attentive Breakfast Server to join our team at Marriott Chicago Northwest (4800 Hoffman Blvd, Hoffman Estates, IL 60192). The Breakfast Server is responsible for providing high-level customer service to all restaurant guests, ensuring an enjoyable dining experience through prompt service, accurate order-taking, and a strong working knowledge of menu items and daily specials.

Responsibilities

• Take food and beverage orders from guests and ensure these are communicated to the appropriate staff (e.g., kitchen, bar).
• Maintain familiarity with all menu items, including bar offerings and daily specials.
• Serve food and beverages professionally and courteously, adhering to company standards.
• Clean designated areas, including tables, condiment sets, and storerooms, following hygiene and company procedures for opening and closing routines.
• Set tables according to company policy, ensuring all items are clean, undamaged, and in good repair.
• Clear tables promptly once guests have finished, balancing efficiency with guest comfort.
• Ensure accurate billing, present checks, and process payments according to establishment procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service, assisting guests without disrupting others.
• Perform additional cleaning duties and assist with maintaining stock levels as needed.
• Comply with all restaurant policies and food safety guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in a similar role.
• Sound knowledge of food safety guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and verbal communication skills.
• Attentive to detail with a friendly, service-driven disposition.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
