About the role
BREAKFAST COOK at Destination Geneva National Located inside Destination Geneva National's sprawling 56,000-square-foot Clubhouse, turf kitchen + tap and Member Tap Room offer panoramic golf course and lake views and an inspired menu for indoor, outdoor and to-go dining.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of dishes including breakfast tacos, croissant sandwiches, pancakes, oatmeal, bacon, smoothies, and other breakfast items, following established recipes and presentation standards.
- Prep for lunch service, including chili and the daily soup special.
- Ensure the freshness, quality, and consistency of all breakfast offerings.
- Cook and plate breakfast dishes using proper techniques and methods to achieve optimal flavor, texture, and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Monitor cooking times, temperatures, and plating to ensure accurate and timely delivery of breakfast orders.
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff to synchronize the preparation of multiple dishes and maintain a smooth breakfast service flow.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including HACCP and local health regulations, to maintain a safe and clean breakfast kitchen environment.
- Handle, store, and rotate food products (using FIFO) to ensure freshness and prevent cross-contamination.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain consistency in breakfast presentation and taste across all dishes.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to facilitate smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
- Aid and support other kitchen staff (including in other resort/hotel kitchens) as needed, fostering a positive and cohesive work environment.
Requirements
- Stand and walk for up to 8+ hours per shift.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Push/pull up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and crouching.
- Use hands and fingers for chopping, mixing, and plating.
- See and hear well for food prep, safety, and communication.
- Work in hot, humid kitchen conditions.
- Work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar kitchen environment preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent quality.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
Skills
- Proficiency in kitchen equipment and tools.
