Position Summary

The Breakfast Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality breakfast items for hotel guests while maintaining Hilton standards for food quality, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction. This position plays a key role in delivering an exceptional breakfast experience through efficient food preparation, timely service, and adherence to food safety standards.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook breakfast menu items, including eggs, omelets, breakfast meats, potatoes, pancakes, waffles, pastries, and other breakfast specialties.
  • Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Maintain proper cooking temperatures and food safety standards.
  • Replenish food stations and buffet offerings as needed during service.
  • Provide a welcoming and professional guest experience.
  • Accommodate special dietary requests when possible and communicate food allergies or restrictions to leadership.
  • Maintain a positive attitude while interacting with guests and team members.
  • Demonstrate Hilton's commitment to hospitality and guest satisfaction.
  • Prepare ingredients and complete mise en place prior to breakfast service.
  • Aid with inventory control and stock rotation using FIFO procedures.
  • Properly receive, store, label, and date food products.
  • Notify management of product shortages or maintenance concerns.

Sanitation & Safety

  • Follow Hilton, Chartwell Hospitality, and local health department food safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area at all times.
  • Properly clean and store kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
  • Adhere to all workplace safety policies and procedures.

Teamwork

  • Support other culinary and restaurant team members as business needs require.
  • Assist with banquet, lunch, dinner, or special event preparation when assigned.
  • Participate in team meetings and ongoing training programs.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous cooking or food preparation experience preferred.
  • Ability to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred: Hotel, restaurant, or breakfast service experience.
  • Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Experience working in a Hilton or full-service hotel setting.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull.
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and fast-paced kitchen environments.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to safely operate commercial kitchen equipment.
