BRD Dryer Operator

About the role

As a Dryer Operator at Barrett Petfood, you will work in a hands-on role focused on the safe and efficient operation of drying equipment. You’ll monitor drying processes, adjust equipment settings, and ensure optimal product quality while collaborating with your team to maintain productivity.

Responsibilities

• Start Dryer, verify airlocks & switches are on and vibe bed is plugged in
• Test kibble every 15 minutes using the Foss Machine (grinds the kibble down to a powder) to take samples and record results
• Conduct paperwork for moisture, temp, & lot information in Plex (ERP system)
• Make dryer adjustments if the kibble is not in spec
• Aerate totes if moisture is out of range & notify cooling room
• Communicate often with maintenance, quality, and extruder operators
• Conduct daily cleaning
• Engage in regular communication with team members to address challenges and share insights

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
• Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times

Pay
