Brazer I - Coils, 2nd Shift

About the role
We are looking for a Brazer I to assist in the production of refrigerated display cases. Brazers join pieces of metal together by heating the pieces, placing a solder-like filler substance on the joint, and allowing the heated metal to melt the filler and seal the joint.
Responsibilities
- Use brazing torch to braze copper to copper, brass, aluminum, or other dissimilar metals.
- Read and comprehend work orders and blueprints; identify part numbers.
- Braze coil assemblies/packages in accordance with defined standards; ensure product quality meets established standards.
- Cut metal piping to specified lengths.
- Perform checks to ensure brazing equipment is in safe and working order; report discrepancies to department leadership.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of six months experience brazing or technical certification in brazing.
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure (including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals).
- Experience with soldering or welding.
- Experience with or working knowledge of refrigerated display cases or HVAC systems.
- Manufacturing, testing, or other hands-on experience with refrigeration equipment.
- Ability to operate power tools and perform tasks that require fine motor skills.
- May be required to perform tasks involving standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, or kneeling.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without mechanical aids on a recurring basis.
- Work is performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels, and dust.
