About the role

As a Brand Sales Specialist Co-Op at IBM, you will create demand, build trusted client relationships, and connect customers with IBM solutions across AI, data, automation, cloud, and infrastructure. This 16-week Co-op position is designed for actively enrolled undergraduate or graduate university students graduating between December 2027 – August 2028. You must be eligible and available for full-time work (40 hours a week) during the fall semester 2026 and should not be enrolled in classes while working this Co-op.

Responsibilities

  • Create demand and identify new opportunities within assigned accounts, territories, and offering portfolios.
  • Engage and qualify prospective clients through phone, email, social media, video outreach, events, marketing programs, and other digital selling channels.
  • Develop and maintain an active pipeline by uncovering expansion opportunities, renewals, upgrades, modernization needs, and customer lifetime value opportunities.
  • Participate in discovery conversations to understand customer business objectives, priorities, challenges, success criteria, and buying needs.
  • Position IBM value propositions as a trusted advisor by aligning brand offerings to customer goals, industry trends, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Technology Sellers, Technical Specialists, Customer Success Managers, Account Executives, Business Partners, Marketing, and Ecosystem teams to progress opportunities and support successful deal execution.
  • Communicate IBM technology value clearly to business and technical stakeholders through presentations, proposals, account plans, and business storytelling.
  • Use digital and AI-powered sales techniques, customer data, market insights, and contemporary offering knowledge to improve engagement strategies and achieve strategic brand outcomes.

Requirements

  • Actively enrolled undergraduate or graduate university student, graduating between December 2027 – August 2028.
  • Seeking a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Communications, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in technology, business development, consultative selling, and solving client challenges.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Analytical thinking, curiosity, adaptability, and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and communicate with both business and technical audiences.
  • Interest in learning IBM technologies, brand offerings, competitive landscapes, industry trends, and digital selling tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership experience through student organizations, athletics, volunteer work, competitions, or community involvement.
