Brand & Marketing Manager
About the Role
The Marketing & Brand Manager is responsible for developing and executing the Lincoln Stars' marketing, digital media, and fan engagement strategies to grow attendance, increase revenue, strengthen the organization's brand, and create an exceptional experience for fans, partners, and the community. Reporting to the Vice President, this position leads the organization's social media presence, content strategy, digital marketing efforts, promotional campaigns, community engagement, and game presentation marketing. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller, strategic marketer, graphic designer, and hands-on executor who thrives in a fast-paced sports environment.
This role collaborates with every department—including ticket sales, partnerships, hockey operations, merchandise, food & beverage, and game operations—to ensure a consistent, engaging, and revenue-focused brand experience across all platforms.
Responsibilities
- Marketing Strategy & Campaign Execution
- Develop and execute annual marketing plans to increase attendance, ticket sales, sponsorship value, merchandise sales, and brand awareness.
- Create integrated marketing campaigns across digital, print, radio, television, outdoor, and community channels.
- Manage promotional calendars and campaign timelines for home games, theme nights, ticket initiatives, and organizational events.
- Work closely with the ticket sales department to develop targeted campaigns.
- Social Media & Digital Strategy
- Lead the organization’s digital presence across Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Develop an annual social media strategy and content calendar.
- Create engaging content, including real-time game coverage, player features, behind-the-scenes stories, and promotional campaigns.
- Monitor trends and recommend innovative content ideas.
- Manage community engagement by responding to messages and interacting with fans.
- Grow followers, engagement, impressions, and video views.
- Analyze platform performance and provide monthly reporting.
- Content Creation
- Create compelling visual storytelling that reflects the Lincoln Stars brand, including photography, videography, short-form video production, graphic design, motion graphics, copywriting, and promotional materials.
- Maintain a consistent visual identity across all marketing touchpoints.
- Digital Marketing
- Manage email marketing campaigns, website updates, landing pages, SEO optimization, and digital advertising (Meta, Google Ads, retargeting).
- Segment CRM audiences and implement marketing automation and promotional texting campaigns.
- Monitor campaign performance and optimize for conversions and ROI.
- Game Presentation & Fan Experience
- Collaborate with the Director of Game Operations to create a premier game experience, including theme night marketing, promotional planning, giveaway campaigns, fan contests, and entertainment planning.
- Develop in-arena messaging, game scripts, crowd engagement initiatives, and new promotional concepts.
- Create memorable moments that drive repeat attendance and strengthen fan loyalty.
- Brand Management
- Protect and strengthen the Lincoln Stars brand by ensuring consistency across all platforms.
- Maintain brand standards for logo usage, typography, colors, messaging, and tone.
- Review marketing materials produced internally and externally.
- Assist in developing seasonal creative campaigns.
- Sponsorship Activation
- Collaborate with the Sales & Partnerships Manager to maximize sponsor value through social media integrations, promotional campaigns, sponsored contests, digital activations, and community programs.
- Develop creative activation ideas that exceed sponsor expectations.
- Merchandise Marketing
- Support the Face Off Store by developing campaigns for product launches, jersey reveals, theme night merchandise, holiday campaigns, and online store promotion.
- Create retail photography and promotional videos.
- Website & Email Marketing
- Manage and maintain digital communication platforms, including website updates, event pages, landing pages, sponsor recognition, and promotional banners.
- Produce weekly email newsletters, ticket sales campaigns, and community updates.
- Analytics & Reporting
- Measure marketing performance through data-driven decision-making, tracking attendance trends, ticket campaign performance, social media growth, engagement metrics, website traffic, email open/click rates, digital advertising ROI, merchandise campaigns, fan demographics, and promotional success.
- Provide monthly reports with recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, Advertising, Public Relations, or a related field (preferred).
- 3–5 years of marketing experience, preferably in sports, entertainment, hospitality, or live events.
- Demonstrated success managing social media platforms and digital marketing campaigns.
- Strong writing, storytelling, and communication skills.
- Experience with Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and email marketing platforms.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, InDesign) and Canva.
- Photography and videography experience (preferred).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-starter with excellent attention to detail.
- Creative thinker who enjoys developing new promotional concepts.
- Passion for sports and creating memorable fan experiences.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during games and events.
- Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor event environments.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as required.
