Brand Designer, Creative X
About the role
We are looking for a brand designer to join the team with a background in developing holistic and timeless brand design systems. This person must have a demonstrated experience in brand architecture, craft, and design thinking, with a proven track record of working on integrated efforts.
You must be comfortable working across many media touchpoints and creating rigorous design systems. You’re a conceptual thinker who can bring ideas to life in new and inspiring ways—and when you decide to make something, you carry your vision from concept to launch with independence and ownership.
In this role, you’ll work specifically and closely with the CX Design team to build out brand foundations and scalable toolkits that enable high-quality campaigns and activations across channels. You’ll translate strategy into clear design systems, templates, and guidelines that help teams move fast while keeping the family of apps brand consistent, expressive, and culturally relevant at global scale.
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve timeless brand foundations for Instagram, grounded in strategic brand thinking, strong craft, and clear design principles
- Create scalable brand systems, behaviors, and toolkits (templates, guidelines, components, asset frameworks) that enable campaigns and activations across channels
- Develop original, original design concepts across a range of marketing touchpoints — balancing expressive exploration with system rigor
- Be deeply hands-on from start to finish: sketch, explore, prototype, design, refine, and deliver the final work with a high bar for detail and quality
- Own projects end-to-end—driving creative development, managing feedback cycles, and ensuring work ships on time and on brand
- Present work clearly and persuasively, using strong storytelling to explain strategy, trade-offs, and craft decisions
- Influence and align stakeholders
- Partner cross-functionally with creatives, researchers, product managers, product marketers, and engineers—and collaborate with agencies/production as needed—to serve a global audience
- Break down complex narratives into simple, compelling brand expressions that communicate intent, value, and cultural relevance
- Contribute to a positive, curious team culture by bringing energy, experimentation, and a sense of fun to the creative process while continuously raising the bar through feedback and criticism
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in brand design, marketing design, or advertising, with demonstrated ownership of large-scale, multi-channel campaigns and/or integrated brand systems
- Proven experience defining, evolving, and scaling visual identity systems for consumer-facing products or global brands—translating strategy into usable guidelines and toolkits
- Strong portfolio showing high craft across digital and social marketing, with experience extending design systems into campaigns, activations, and multi-format expressions
- Experience leading creative workstreams end-to-end and partnering cross-functionally to align stakeholders, incorporate feedback, and deliver work that ships
- Effective communication skills, with a track record of influencing creative strategy and design decisions through presentations, narratives, and clear design rationale
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, with the ability to produce explorations, high-fidelity designs, and presentation-ready assets
- Portfolio demonstrating a range of work with clear outcomes (brand impact, business impact, or measurable performance, where applicable)
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to create global-ready frameworks that scale across markets, localization needs, and diverse cultural contexts without losing brand integrity
- Proven ability to operate effectively in highly ambiguous problem spaces—bringing structure, options, and momentum when the path isn’t defined
- Motion design skills (or strong motion graphics partnership experience) to extend brand systems into animation, transitions, and dynamic storytelling. Experience designing for technology platforms that span multiple surfaces and constraints (e.g., consumer hardware, wearables, or hardware and software ecosystems)
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
