Branch Utility Sales Service Representative
About the role
Crystal Clean (CC) is one of the nation’s leading privately held companies in the environmental waste services industry. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a strong work ethic to join our rapidly growing company. The Branch Utility Sales Service Representative will provide sales and services of parts cleaner equipment, environmental waste services, and product sales to automotive and industrial businesses. This position involves frequent handling of 16-55-gallon drums of hazardous/non-hazardous material and using drum dollies to move product to/from a Class B box truck to worksites. Additionally, the role may require performing responsibilities of the TSSR and AFSR positions.
Attendance is required at the branch for the duration of the standard work week. Weekly schedules are at the discretion of the Branch Manager.
Responsibilities
- Work safely in all job aspects and functions.
- Promote and foster safety and efficiency in all employees and activities.
- Provide customer service and new business development in an assigned geographic area.
- Service existing customers by exchanging solvent and/or replacing drums, parts washers, and other equipment.
- Align work orders to minimize mileage and travel time.
- Inspect vehicle and equipment for safe operation.
- Assess potential customer needs, present CC products and services, and develop new customers.
- Develop sales leads for Data-Marketing.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and neatly.
- Maintain a driving log for D.O.T.
- Adhere to all corporate policies and standards, including environmental, regulatory, human resources, facility, equipment, operations, and maintenance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to interact with customers, sales branch employees, and other corporate departments.
- Ability to operate equipment such as mobile phones, scanners, and computers.
- Previous sales experience highly desirable.
- Ability to maintain a valid Class “B” CDL license and all required endorsements.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have or be qualified to obtain a Class “B” CDL license with HazMat/Tanker endorsement (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Clean motor vehicle record (MVR) with no major violations (e.g., DUI, cell phone use while driving, no seatbelt).
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including a respirator, steel toe boots, gloves, uniform, safety glasses, reflective vest, and hard hats.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting of materials that typically weigh 54-80 lbs.
- Frequent pushing/pulling of 16-55-gallon drums of waste/product (typically 140-460 lbs).
- Frequent climbing of ladders, vehicles, and storage tanks to access used oil/wastes.
- Occasional pulling/dragging of hoses out of the truck (10-55 lbs each).
- All applicants must pass a company-paid physical exam, including substance abuse screening.
Work Environment
While performing essential duties, this role regularly works in a variety of environments and requires seeing, talking, hearing, reaching with hands, standing, walking, and driving frequently. Essential duties involve frequent bending, squatting, and twisting. The role may be exposed to dirt, dust, and fumes, with noise levels generally moderate but varying depending on customer site visits. Pay
The compensation for this role includes a weekly base salary, plus bonuses and uncapped commission. Actual total earnings will vary based on performance and location. Average annual earnings range from $50,000 to $75,000.
