About the Role

Plans, organizes, coordinates, and ensures delivery of services at the office while supervising office employees. Assists in the daily operation of the branch to maintain efficient and convenient member service that encourages growth and satisfies the needs of the membership. Provides encouragement, training, and development of staff supporting the overall goals and direction of the credit union.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains current knowledge of technology necessary to function in position; pursues continuing education as needed.
  • Networks with other financial institutions to stay abreast of current trends.
  • As a member of the management team, submits recommendations for changes in policies and procedures and assists in administrative matters affecting the organization.
  • Exhibits leadership to staff and creates an atmosphere conducive to quality performance and morale.
  • Supports staff efforts in maintaining an atmosphere of service excellence.
  • Provides supervision, scheduling, training, day-to-day reinforcement, coaching, and support for staff; evaluates assigned staff annually.
  • Ensures staff meets responsibilities and complies with the union contract.
  • Maintains knowledge of all credit union services and assists members in any of those areas; researches and resolves member problems or complaints; approves loans within authority.
  • Ensures adherence to security policies by office staff and operational security systems through regularly scheduled inspections and checklists.
  • Maintains proper documentation for the area of responsibility; analyzes and modifies procedures as necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and cooperates during compliance audits.
  • Ensures internal and external maintenance of the facility is in good repair and makes suggestions for improvement.
  • Conducts community relations, networks, and maintains good working relationships with outside contacts.
  • Participates in the introduction of new products and services.
  • Analyzes opportunities to increase membership base by researching the market.
  • Represents the credit union at community events, trade shows, business, and social events; performs public relations when necessary.
  • Achieves sales goals for the branch through direct sales and supervision of assigned staff; coaches to ensure employee goals are met.
  • Works closely with staff to develop leads and enhance relationships with existing business partners; seeks and acts on leads for new business partners.
  • Keeps VP of Sales and Service informed of any challenges within the area of responsibility.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Manages document disposal by placing documents needing shredding in the proper area.
  • Maintains knowledge of and follows established processes for key control, security, and related office security procedures.
  • Opens and closes the office by disarming and arming alarms as required by established procedures.
  • Completes necessary logs and maintains a thorough working knowledge of the department.
  • Maintains understanding of credit union policies and procedures, including Negotiable Instrument Reference & Guidelines, NACHA, BSA, and OFAC.

Requirements

  • Education: A two-year college degree in Business Management or a relevant field.
  • Experience: One to two years of member/customer relations experience at a credit union or similar environment with proven sales results.
