About the role

Responsibilities
- Read and accurately identify the customer's needs per the Work Instruction Document
- Take necessary measurements and mark garments for alterations, with the ability to problem-solve individual sizing issues
- Operate a heat press safely and efficiently
- Perform uniform sewing, alterations, and embellishments with accuracy and efficiency, including:
- Taking up stride
- Lengthening/shortening tails on shirts
- Tapering shirts
- Adjusting waists
- Hemming trousers
- Mending tears
- Replacing zippers
- Applying patches
- Applying name strips
- Applying striping
- Applying patches
- Operate industrial sewing machinery and meet production deadlines
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous experience in alterations preferred, but GALLS will train
- Well-versed in industrial Sewing machines, preferred, but GALLS will train
- Ability to effectively read/receive work instructions in English
- Extremely detail-oriented and quality-focused – you're not happy with mistakes
- Solid communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, bend, stretch, twist, and lift, with or without reasonable accommodation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous experience in alterations
- Industrial Sewing machine proficiency
- Effective reading and understanding of work instructions
- Attention to detail and quality focus
- Strong communication skills
- Physical stamina for standing or sitting for long periods, bending, stretching, twisting, and lifting
