The Branch Operations Manager (BOM) ensures the success of the branch operation by driving safety, controlling costs, managing the workforce, and efficiently handling inventory—all while maintaining excellent service standards and high customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Operations

  • Provides direct and indirect managerial oversight to branch operational employees, including Production Supervisors, Shop/Yard Labor, Field Service, Dispatchers/Transportation Coordinators, Drivers, and Branch Coordinators.
  • Manages tasks, daily assignments, and duties for temporary workers and contractors.
  • Ensures timely and clear communication to all branch employees.
  • Utilizes internal systems to deliver safe, timely, cost-effective, high-quality, and efficient revenue activities.
  • Oversees ongoing maintenance, inventory, and servicing of the fleet through efficient use of company resources (time, people, money, etc.).
  • Uses forward-looking planning tools and budgets to actively manage costs, including all activities necessary to operate a branch.
  • Ensures timely and accurate work order, off-rent/damage bill, inventory, and purchasing compliance.
  • Maintains accurate and readily available parts, VAPS, and other resources for efficient operations.
  • Collaborates with HR and leadership to manage and develop the branch workforce, including recruiting, training, and talent assessment.
  • Proactively seeks top external talent to maintain a robust pool of qualified candidates.
  • Efficiently manages logistics, including safety, resources, DOT compliance, and route efficiency.

Production

  • Ensures off-rents are completed within determined timelines; inspects returned units for work order accuracy and damage billing.
  • Relocates idle fleet and conducts work order assessments as required.
  • Performs fleet physical inventory counts at established frequencies.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the Work Order system, identifies drivers of inaccuracies, and develops strategies to minimize variances.
  • Issues and tracks vendor purchase orders.
  • Orders, receives, and distributes materials/VAPS to work teams/vendors to support unit completion requirements.
  • Conducts parts and VAPS inventory counts.
  • Drives first-time quality and reduces service calls through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Customer Service

  • Uses Net Promoter Score (NPS) feedback to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Ensures on-time deliveries, returns, relocations, and service.
  • Drives high levels of product quality (First Time Quality).
  • Promotes commercial readiness through operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or 3 years of applicable experience.
  • 5 years’ experience managing one or more direct reports in a service shop, manufacturing, or building construction environment or 2 years of experience with WillScot.
  • Experience managing a unit or departmental budget or 2 years of experience with WillScot.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to follow direction, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build sustainable relationships and trust with vendors through proactive communication.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple, changing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com, SAP, Tableau, Hyperion, Teams/Zoom, or Smartsheets.
  • Experience in fleet management, logistics, inventory, dispatching, or building codes/permitting.

Pay

Base wage range: $91,400.00 – $127,900.00. Individual rates are based on factors such as degrees or certifications, skill level, years of experience, and include considerations for expected overtime and variable compensation (e.g., bonus or commission).
