About the role
The BM I, AVP position exists in a small-to-medium size single location with up to 6 full and part time employees. Key responsibilities include leading and implementing branch sales and service plans, representing the credit union through community involvement, developing staff, and maximizing resource returns.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and directs day-to-day operations of sales and service functions within the branch.
- Conducts outside business development functions and local grassroots activities.
- Develops staff by providing continuous training and opportunities for growth.
- Learns and leads weekly staff meetings, conducts one-on-one meetings, and ensures daily sales huddles.
- Ensures development of all branch budgets and monitors variance reports.
- Provides quick turnaround and professional responses to complex and sensitive service issues.
- Supports, promotes, and participates in branch and company events.
- Attends and participates in all required meetings.
- Determines, sets, and monitors individual staff goals.
- Ensures execution of sales/retail environment and accurate tracking of sales and marketing programs.
- Attends and participates in all required training.
- Represents the Credit Union in a positive and professional manner.
- Maintains member and other sensitive information with confidentiality.
Requirements
- 3+ years in a financial institution, including 2 years supervisory experience at a Branch Supervisor level.
- Experience in outside Business Development.
- Supervised at least 5 people, with at least 1 being a lead/supervisor.
- Strong working knowledge of all depository and loan products.
- Knowledge of Branch Operations in a financial institution.
- Share insurance and regulations knowledge.
- Proficiency with PC and Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, and MS Excel.
- Effective team-building and mentoring abilities.
- Ability to interface and communicate with a diverse workforce.
- Critical thinking skills, problem-solving ability, and multitasking capability.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and cover shifts as needed.
Qualifications
- Sales and Service Training.
- NMLS Registered.
- Associate's degree or some college level coursework along with related experience.
Skills

- Knowledge of all depository and loan products.
- Experience in driving sales and managing/leading a team.
- Knowledge of Sales / Service Techniques.

- Knowledge of Branch Operations Institute, Sales Training, or CUNA Management School.
- Medallion Stamp Certification.
- Notary certification.
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
