About the role
Intsel Steel, a division of Triple-S Steel, is seeking an experienced and dynamic candidate for the Branch Manager position in Commerce City, CO.
Responsibilities
- Oversee overall operations, sales, and performance of designated branch.
- Drive business growth, achieve sales targets, manage financial performance, and ensure excellent service to valued customers.
- Lead and develop a team of employees while fostering a positive work environment and upholding Triple-S Steel values and standards.
- Work in conjunction with the Sales, Purchasing, and Finance teams to establish and attain targets in Sales, Gross Profit, Inventory levels, and inventory accuracy.
- Communicate and work with the VP Sales to identify and capture new accounts in both the geographic area and the area of the branch expertise.
- Become proficient in the sales and quoting process and maintain a price book.
- Ensure plant and equipment are clean, maintained, and organized.
- Coordinate with the VP of Quality on metrics to improve quality.
- Ensure a productive workforce using relevant and consistent metrics.
- Manage the profitability of the branch and the productive and safe use of branch assets.
- Operate within the AMM for credit approval and document rationale when exercising authority.
- Coordinate with the Credit Manager to nurture team credit decisions.
- Accountable for managing total inventory under management within established limits.
- Coordinate purchasing between branch and regional buyers.
- Operate within annual or special budget allocations and draw upon corporate buying programs.
- Conduct quarterly profit sharing or town hall meetings to communicate branch performance and market conditions with employees.
- Achieve best practices with other branches when possible to bring about continuity throughout the organization.
- Hire personnel within the budgets adopted and approved by management.
- Train and develop all new staff while collaborating with managers on improving retention rates.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Industrial Distribution, or Operations Management, or five years of progressive management experience in the Metals Distribution Industry, with a focus on the structural/construction markets.
- MBA is preferred.
- Proven experience in a managerial role within the steel industry, preferably in sales or operations.
- Financial management and budgeting skills.
- Strong knowledge of the steel market, industry trends, and customer needs.
- Business acumen and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Qualifications
- Physical requirements: Regularly sits, uses hands and fingers to handle or feel, talks or hears, lifts and moves up to 40 pounds occasionally, and occasionally stands, walks, and reaches with hands and arms.
- Working conditions: Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.

Pay
$125,000.00 to $175,000.00 + incentive
