Branch Manager
About the role
The Branch Manager oversees and manages end-to-end processes and operations within the branch location. Key responsibilities include exceeding customer expectations, optimizing branch transactions, managing staff, growing the business, monitoring finances, preparing budgets, developing customer relationships, implementing standardized processes, managing personnel, enforcing company policies, accompanying sales calls, and managing financial and operational aspects.
Responsibilities
- Exceed customer expectations by providing highest possible service quality to customers.
- Optimize branch transactions, increase sales and decrease costs.
- Optimize staffing productivity to assume best use of all resources.
- Responsible for strong growth within designated geographical area and maximal utilization of business potential.
- Continuously strive for high productivity, competitive efficiency and best quality.
- Fully adhere to all defined ISO policies and standards and to local law.
- Prepare yearly local budget including investments and staffing.
- Develop and expand customer relationships together with sales.
- Responsible for implementation and maintenance of standardized processes, structures and systems according to corporate guidelines.
- Responsible for management of all personnel and HR matters including staff training and planning in cooperation with Human Resources (HR).
- Ensure company's Code of Conduct is fully enforced and followed by employees.
- Accompany Sales calls as needed.
- Financial Management: AR (Accounts Receivable), AP (Accounts Payable) and FSL (Forward Stocking Location).
- Operations Management.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to translate strategy into actionable operational plans and drive execution.
- Prominent leadership and people management experience, including recruitment, training and development, coaching, conflict resolution, and performance management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in both open and confidential settings.
- Sound decision-making capabilities with a high level of accountability and ownership.
- Results-driven with a strong customer-focused mindset.
- Able to collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate resources across teams and organizational boundaries.
- Serves as a role model aligned with JAS corporate values.
- Highly organized with strong time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer applications.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience within the freight forwarding industry.
- Strong financial acumen, experience managing P&L.
- Experience across air, ocean, and supply chain/logistics operations.
- Knowledge of market dynamics, competitors, trends, and challenges within the freight forwarding industry.
- Experience with CargoWise is a plus.
- Additional international language skills are a plus.
Environment
100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Travel will be (up to 20%) required in support of the position’s responsibilities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
