About the role

Responsible for leading a team of associates in the delivery of Breakthrough Client Service and establishing the branch as the bank of choice in the local community. Responsible for attaining established growth goals by developing new relationships and growing existing relationships. Ensures branch operates efficiently and within operational guidelines at all times. Lead, manage and coach associate performance and development while managing appropriate branch staffing levels.

Responsible for branch P&L, achieving growth targets, managing the branch's portfolio, and carefully managing the branch's expenses. Achieves consistent satisfactory audit results through sound operational practices. Partners closely with cross-functional leaders within Retail and across the bank to provide meaningful client solutions in line with Retail business strategy. Demonstrates basic knowledge of core products and Columbia's Business/Consumer Financial Review process.

  • Develops and maintains strong, long-term relationships with consumers, public figures, businesses, and charitable organizations in local community.
  • Embodies and leads the core values of the bank every day in interactions with associates, customers, and shareholders.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a Bank MLO (Mortgage Loan Originator) for open-end transactions (e.g., home equity lines of credit), including taking loan applications, offering or arranging mortgages, and assisting consumers in obtaining mortgages.
  • Comply with all Federal, State, and local consumer protection laws governing loan origination, including the SAFE Act and its registration/renewal requirements.
  • Manage deposit and loan portfolios, including less complex consumer and business relationships.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in consumer lending and prior exposure to business lending origination.
  • Proficient use of spreadsheets, banking computer systems, and office equipment (e.g., counting cash, typing, handling documents).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s, Vocational, or Technical Degree in banking, business, or related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years of previous banking experience, including consumer lending and exposure to business lending origination (required).
  • 3 years of management experience in banking or retail, including team leadership, coaching, daily supervision, labor law compliance, performance management, hiring, and termination (preferred).
  • Advanced knowledge of banking products and services with demonstrated business acumen.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Membership in local community organizations, demonstrating commitment to community leadership.
  • Notary certification (preferred).

Benefit eligibility begins the first day of the month following the date of hire for associates who are regularly scheduled to work at least thirty hours weekly.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000. The pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, with details provided during the recruitment process.
